Visit

Our beautiful 22-acre canyon site includes a retail nursery and a store to meet all of your native plant gardening needs. You will find a large selection of books, seed, and garden tools and accessories in the store as well as Theodore Payne gear like t-shirts and hats. Stop in to the see latest art exhibition in the Theodore Payne Gallery, adjacent to the store.

Feel free to explore the grounds when you visit. In and round the retail nursery, you’ll find displays of mature specimens – inspiration for your own garden. You’ll find plantings for sun, shade, slopes, narrow beds, pollinators, birds, groundcovers, wild flowers, and fire-wise landscapes.

From the nursery, you can access Wild Flower Hill Trail – a ¾ mile walk through chaparral and coastal sage scrub. A picnic bench and panoramic views of the Verdugo Mountains and San Fernando Valley reward you at the top of the hill. Keep your eyes and ears open for signs of deer, coyote, and quail. Rattlesnakes are not uncommon here in spring and summer, so it is best to stay alert.

We are open year round to the public. Admission is free and friendly, on-leash dogs are welcome.
