Shop for Plants, Seeds, Books & More

Theodore Payne Foundation is a one-stop shop for your California native garden needs! Our retail nursery is open to the public year round and offers the largest and best selection of California native plants in the region – throughout the year, more than 900 species and cultivars. We sell plants in sizes from 4-inch to 15-gallon containers and 24” boxes. Most of the plants we offer are propagated on site. We offer seed from more than 200 different species of California native plants, including annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs. Seed and expert advice are available at our Sun Valley headquarters along with custom seed mixes. Seed can be purchased online. We ship only within California.

Our garden shop carries a full selection of books that focus on native plants, sustainable landscaping, gardening for birds and butterflies, and the natural history of California. You can order books online.

Gardening accessories include gloves, hand tools, and more. TPF’s unique t-shirts for adults, youth, and infants are perennial favorites, along with our baseball hats, tote bags, patches, stickers, and clings. Show your TPF spirit! A selection is also available online.
